Continue analysis from previous session
Continue analysis from previous session
Hello everyone
Since every GAT session takes a lot of computer time and I don't want leaving my PC working all the time,
I wonder if there is a way to continue a session from where it stopped/paused last time.
I used the "Export Run State" , but I can't seem to find a similar way to "LOAD" the saved file for another session.

Hi Athos, in order to load a saved state, clear any loaded history file from the menu. Then the "Load saved state" function will become available at the menu right above the save state function.

Got it , thanks
What about the question to terminate the scan after the Resume option ?
I suppose NO is the correct selection, if someone wants to continue working from the previous position, right ?

Re: Continue analysis from previous session
You have to press NO to continue the scan from the position is has been loaded. I you press YES you'll get back at the main program screen. Even if you do however, you can resume the scan from the main program screen.

One more question (sorry...)
After initial analysis, I have saved my run state, selected my GAT and played it.
With my lottery's new numbers, and in order to continue my analysis, 1) I open the lottery 2)import the new numbers and 3) Resume analysis . Correct ?
(My previously saved state corresponds to the previously drawn numbers, so it's of no use to me anymore ?)

Re: Continue analysis from previous session
One side note to your question: if you save a state and want to continue this in the future draws, you have to import that state as well. The actual history and a saved state are not connected, thus whatever you do at a saved state, resides only in memory and in order to retain this in the future is to re-save a new state. Your initial lotto history/parameters are not affected by whatever you do at a saved state. The opposite is true as well; whatever you do at the original history does not affect in any way the saved states.
The purpose of a saved state is: 1)backup a scan to continue or inspect it at a later time, regardless if you have added new draws or whatever at the original history 2)do some test runs of various approaches without having to worry if you damage your original lotto history (i.e. you may try to back test by removing some real history draws). I see no other reason to use a saved state here. The way you describe this above is like, you indicate that you have to save a state in order to continue prediction in the future draws. Saving a state in this case is not required at all.

Well understood and thank you
On a different basis now, is GAT able to run on multi-cores ?
I'm thinking on experimenting with the Processor Affinity to try to improve running speed< but if it"s a multi_core software there is no need

Both GAT and WG are single-core at the moment to their core functionality.
