Brazilian Lotteries

Postby Kalfas » Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:56 am

Hi LA,
I left Greece in 1975 and I live in Rio de Janeiro.
Among the Lottos in Brazil I am interested in 2 of them.
Lotofacil: Play 15 numbers out of 25 and gain with 11,12,13,14 and 15. Probability 1/3.268.760.
Lotomania: Play 50 numbers out of 100 and gain with 16,17,18,19 and 20. Probability 1/11.372.635.
I have a program I use, but i think that it creates too many tickets.
Could you tell me what tool I could use. Thanks
Kalfas

Hi Kalfas,

these are KENO style games and unfortunately I do not have something that can be used with such games. Your best chance is existing covering repositories (try LaJolla or Wilfried Fromme's websites) but again, its really hard to find good constructions for these games, even harder to find programs capable to construct these, so I can't recommend any. Perhaps other users may be of help to this. Lotofacil seems more reasonable to approach and there may be something useful to use in the above repositories. One last question: for the lottomania game, you win only if you pick 16-20 correct? If you pick 21 correct, is there a win or not?

cheers

Hi LA,
no you cannot pick 21 points because they only extract 20 numbers.
You can visit 2 web sites. http://www1.caixa.gov.br/loterias/index.asp which is a federal site with all the Brazilian lotteries and explains all of them.
<Link removed - links to commercial programs are not allowed> It´s a similar program as yours to cover all the lotteries. It´s in portugues, but the tecnical word are very similar.
Of course if you need any help with the language, let me know.
