Development - Wheel Generator 1.6

Post by lottoarchitect » Sat Nov 29, 2008 4:29 pm

Well, the development of the new version of WG is underway. New additions to the system will be made and so far added:
  • Auto-removal of blocks to the specified L% (for the main coverage engine). This L% in WG 1.5 currently only affects the Th.Min display indicator.
  • A requested feature to build coverings where each block is allowed to come from a particular set as discussed here (guide filters feature)
    viewtopic.php?f=17&t=73
Other additions are underway as well. If you want to suggest improvements feel free to do so.

cheers

As an example of the guide filters, I'll again use the c(18,6,4,6) = 42 demonstrated in WG 1.5 development.
My 18 selected numbers are: 3,6,7,8,12,15,19,23,24,25,26,28,30,34,35,39,43,46
Filters: Sums accept 80-160, Odd/even accept 2-4 and Common accept 2-3 where my common set is: 6,7,8,24,25,26,28,30 which now all set to be guides for the covering. This means that the covering now is allowed to contain only blocks that pass all of the selected guide filters. The produced outcome in the WG process was:

03 06 07 30 34 39
03 06 12 15 24 25
03 06 19 30 39 46
03 06 26 35 43 46
03 07 08 19 24 43
03 07 12 24 35 46
03 07 23 25 28 46
03 08 15 19 28 35
03 08 23 26 30 39
03 08 24 34 39 46
03 12 19 26 28 34
03 12 25 30 35 39
03 15 23 28 30 43
03 25 26 28 34 43
06 07 12 19 23 30
06 07 15 34 43 46
06 08 12 28 39 43
06 08 15 19 26 46
06 08 23 25 34 35
06 15 23 24 35 39
06 15 28 30 35 46
06 19 25 28 34 46
06 23 24 26 34 43
06 23 26 28 35 39
07 08 12 15 23 26
07 08 19 34 35 39
07 08 23 30 34 46
07 12 24 28 39 43
07 12 25 34 35 43
07 15 24 28 34 35
07 15 25 26 39 46
07 19 26 30 35 43
08 12 23 28 43 46
08 12 25 26 35 46
08 15 25 30 39 43
08 19 24 30 34 35
12 15 26 30 34 39
12 19 24 25 35 43
12 23 24 25 30 46
15 19 23 25 28 34
15 19 24 26 28 46
19 23 24 25 26 39

This covering passes all the filters' constraints set (100 % sum,odd & common) and it offers 98.69% coverage for 4if6 (missing 242/18564). When all filters are activated as guides, we essentially look for optimizing the coverage aspect of the covering to the maximum possible extend, since we have guaranteed that the covering will satisfy all the guide filters. It is also possible to set particular filters as guides and let the other filters work in normal mode (as WG currently does).
For comparisons to the normal WG mode (no filter guides), the reference is

LA,

could you wheel again the same set of numbers (and same common numbers and odd/even) with SUMs from 81 to160?

Thanks,
Frank

I will Frank, however why do you request this? Are you aware of something particular which can be revealed with this small change?

The software I'll use to get an identical wheel, has SUMS like : <= 80; 81-100; 101-120; ...

That's the reason ... by the way, this thread doesn't allow to format characters?

I see, so you will activate the sums 81-100 & 101-120 up to 141-160 I suppose and compare the results. Fair enough. Is it possible to also include the odd/common numbers filters in this software? If you aim to compare the results achieved on coverage, every property should be the same.
Formatting characters such as changing the font size is not provided. Only font colour and bold/italic/underline.

Yes, I can put ODD/EVEN = 2-4 + 3-3 + 4-2 and common numbers from 2 to 3.

It will be identical.

On the right, I see this message BBC code is OFF; that's the reason why I cannot bold characters.

Actually, you can use the same covering Frank for comparison. No ticket proposed in the covering offers sum 80. If I manage to improve the coverage below missing 242 I'll post it as well. I'll also check for the BBC codes in this thread.

It would be interesting if WG 1.6 could make a 100% cover wheel with less lines. LA, please check if filters are ok.
